The second “season” of the VASSP blog site is getting under way and it would be appropriate at this time of the year to hear “What is your best advice on getting the new year off to a good start?” from our administrators in Virginia. Many of you have a best practice regarding school openings that you may wish to share with your colleagues across the Commonwealth. How about sending them here to share?
Some school divisions in southwest Virginia will begin the new year very soon if not by this coming week. Of course, for the remainder of those of you living and working west of I-95, you have the ability to begin before Labor Day as you have permission to do so granted by the exceptional sages in the GA. The remainder of us will still wait until September 4th to kick off the new school year. There is still time, however, to share your ideas and provide a new idea to be implemented at another school.
Regardless of opening time, if you have a practice or policy that you would like to share for your fellow administrators, send it to me, Larry Lenz at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will post it on our blog site for all to read.
Have a great school year and send me a note at my email address if you have any concerns or topics you would like to see on this blog site for the 2012-2013 year.
