Congratulations to VASSP President Dr. Keith Perrigan, Principal of Patrick Henry High School in Washington County. “For the second year in a row, Patrick Henry High School earned a silver rating from U.S. News and World Report which released its rankings of high and colleges…” as reported in the Bristol Herald Courier. Patrick Henry High School is rated in the top 15 percent of high schools in Virginia as determined by the U. S. News and World Report and is ranked above average in reading and near average in math proficiency.
At PHS, more than 30 percent of the students participate in advanced placement classes and tests. Dr. Perrigan noted that the focus on student success is what helps Patrick Henry High School stand out. “Our focus is not on the test, but on the individual students,” he noted. “We want them to meet every requirement for graduation, but also to be prepared to be contributing members of society.”
