Science Activity for Virginia Students

The University of Virginia and Virginia Tech will offer a special science program for current 8th and 9th grade students during the summer of 2015. The program,, Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology (BLAST) will provide students an opportunity to explore topics in science, engineering and math (STEM) while living on the university campus. The goal of the program is to attract students who are motivated to learn, but have not yet demonstrated an interest in STEM coursework.

Students who attend will be given a choice of a session at VT, July 12-15 or one of two sessions at UVA, July 26-29 and August 2-5, 2015.

Faculty at your school who are interested in promoting this activity for students may access program information at www.blast.spacegrant.org. Application deadlines will be February 2, 2015.
