{"id":2829,"date":"2013-09-18T15:14:21","date_gmt":"2013-09-18T19:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.vassp.org\/?p=2829"},"modified":"2013-09-18T15:14:21","modified_gmt":"2013-09-18T19:14:21","slug":"faculty-meetings-should-mean-something","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.vassp.org\/?p=2829","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Meetings Should Mean Something"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two recent blogs from separate authors bring to light a significant topic for school leaders:\u00a0 What is the Purpose\/Focus\/Value of your Faculty Meetings?\u00a0 Principal Peter DeWitt and Mel Riddle, NASSP coordinator for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">The Principal Difference<\/span>\u00a0both have reviewed common formats and rationales for faculty meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Having learned early on as an assistant principal that &#8220;sit and get&#8221; faculty meetings can be a waste of time for all staff and that this type of meeting needed to be changed, my meeting formats as a principal were different.\u00a0 Our information sessions were done with department leaders who in turn met with their department members to explain and review necessary information.
