The VASSP Board of Directors held its summer retreat in Ashland on July 29 and 30. This meeting was held to plan for the upcoming year and to assist new board members with the development of their responsibilities as your representatives for VASSP.
Your VASSP Board of Directors is composed of the following new leaders and new members for the 2013 – 2014 year.
President : Dr. David Elena, Principal-Tomahawk Middle School, Chesterfield County
President-Elect : Dr. Brian Matney, Principal-Landsdown High School, Virginia Beach
State Coordinator : Mrs. Sharonn Pope, Principal-L. Douglas Wilder Middle School, Richmond
Region 2 Director : Dr. Mark Makovec, Principal-Northside Middle School, Norfolk
Region 7 Director : Mr. Michael Davidson, Principal-Marion Senior High School, Marion
Director-At-Large: Dr. Jeffery Carroll, Principal-Warhill High School, Williamsburg
In addition, two former board members have been selected to return to continue leadership for their regions:
Region 5 Director: Mr. Don Vale, Principal- Thomas Harrison Middle School, Harrisonburg
