VASSP Supports E-rate Funding

VASSP has joined 75 national organizations in submitting a letter to the Federal Communications Commission supporting the funding needs for the E-rate program for Schools and Libraries. By doing so, VASSP supports a permanent increase to E-rate funding in order to be certain that all students and library patrons can access high speed broadband needed in their schools and public libraries.

The E-rate program, established in 1998, was capped at $2.25 billion and has not received any significant increase in funding since its’ inception.  VASSP members recognize the importance of internet access in schools and at home for student instructional use and supporting this financial movement places Virginia among other education associations across the nation.
